Re: Issues with using Apache Flex Installer.

Alex Harui-2
Hmm.  Not sure if SourceForge is still recovering from an outage or not.

Anyway, if you have a copy of OSMF somewhere else on your computer or
another server, you might be able to get past this failure by doing the
following:

1) create an empty folder where you want the SDK to go
2) add a local.properties file with the contents described later in the
email
3) Run the installer and use this folder as the destination folder for the
SDK.

In local.properties, tweak the following so it can find the OSMF file.  If
you have it locally, use file:// protocol.

osmf.url.server=http://downloads.sourceforge.net
osmf.url.folder=project/osmf.adobe
osmf.url.file=OSMF.swc
osmf.url.md5=6385228692ab982630e47422403f6890

I already check the addresses the installer uses to download the components,
and what I found is that sourceforge its up, but when it's accesed gets
redirected to a secure to https://sourceforge......

I was able to run "ant thirdparty-downloads" and download the files after I
changed the http for https.
but havent been able to configure the env.properties file with the right
paths.

Thanks  por your help.

Re: Issues with using Apache Flex Installer.

Alex Harui-2
Hi Alberto,

I tried this on my Windows machine.  Using a browser, I went to:

http://sourceforge.net/adobe/flexsdk/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/frameworks/libs/O
SMF2_0.swc?format=raw

And downloaded that file to my C:\Users\aharui\Downloads folder.

Then I created a new folder and created a local.properties file.  In it I
put.
osmf.url.server=file:///C:/Users/aharui
osmf.url.folder=Downloads
osmf.url.file=OSMF2_0.swc

Then I ran the installer and chose that folder and it seemed to work.  I
also asked for the Fontkit and it failed there as well, so I assume you'd
have to do a similar workaround.

I'm not sure why the Installer can't get that file from SourceForge.  I
don't remember off-hand whether we changed how we download, but
SourceForge has been picky in the past.

I also went to http://flex.apache.org/download-binaries.html and
downloaded and unzipped the Windows .zip file.  Then in that folder I ran:

   ant -f installer.xml

Ant was able to bring down OSMF so it is definitely something with the
Installer code, but that is also a possible workaround for you.

HTH,
-Alex

Re: Issues with using Apache Flex Installer.

This post was updated on .
I have the same problem, local.properties work, thanks.

I tired with an Air app to download "https://sourceforge.net/adobe/flexsdk/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/frameworks/libs/OSMF2_0.swc?format=raw" using flash.net.URLLoader and it work.
