FlexJS: findPopUpHost Issue

PKumar
Hi,

I am using  below statement to get popup host but getting null if this is a application instance.

var popupHost:IPopUpHost = UIUtils.findPopUpHost(this as IUIBase);

- this = Application instance

If i am passing inview id then it is working ok. Please suggest.

regards,
Prashant

Hi Prashant,

Can you try to use from main application property UIUtils.findPopUpHost(initialView);
I think for some reason this maybe is not the right type.

As I understand you experienced this one on JS sight ? Does it working in swf ?

Thanks,
Piotr

I looked into that farther and function findPopUpHost(start:IUIBase) is expecting IUIBase and I think it should be IPopupHost.

I will ask on Dev list.

Additionally why are you trying to find popup host in application? Application itself is an popup host. - Implements IPopupHost
What is the use case that you required such searching?

Re: FlexJS: findPopUpHost Issue

Hi,

Unlike Flex, the Application in FlexJS is not a visual component and is
not part of the display list. The top-most UI element is the initialView
property of the Application.

Also, findPopUpHost takes an IUIBase so it can walk up the display list
tree until finds an IPopUpHost which is most often the View.

HTH,
Peter
