Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 + new AIR and Flex SDKs

Astraport
Hello everyone )

Once upon a time I created more than 30 not the worst applications on
Starling + Feathers and Flex. Unfortunately, they are all removed from
Google Play and partly from Apple Store. But users of the apps often write
to me and ask me to restore and update my apps. And I decided to do it for
the glory of the great Flash!

So now I need to restore in my memory what I was doing several years 5 years
ago. I have a working IDE Flash Builder that I'm very used to. I downloaded
here Flex SDK <https://archive.apache.org/dist/flex/4.16.1/binaries/>   and
from  here AIR SDK for Flex <https://airsdk.harman.com/download>  .

First I unpacked the first archive in folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe
Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\sdks\4.16.1, then overwrite the files with the
second archive. So I did before, so I do now.
Then I downloaded  the AIR for Windows <https://airsdk.harman.com/download>
and unpacked it in a folder - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7
(64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK
Ok, I changed the Flash Builder Flex SDK in the settings.
For the test, I created a new mobile project for the Flex application - this
is the simplest. But in the first step, when I start in the emulator, I get
an error:
<http://apache-flex-users.2333346.n4.nabble.com/file/t777/2020-01-04_20-23-37.png>
`Process terminated unexpectedly.
initial content not found

Launch command details: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64

"C:\Users\Astraport\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\ytr\bin-debug\ytr-app.xml"
"C:\Users\Astraport\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\ytr\bin-debug" `

I already broke my head, where and what to fix?
What are the ideas?
Thanks

Hi,

depending on how your apps do, you can consider Apache Royale [1] and try
to compile your code against this new technology to JS.

Try using Apache Flex Installer and the latest Adobe AIR and see if that works.  Then we'll try to figure out Harman's version of AIR.  I think someone managed to get it to work in a prior thread.

Thanks for your help. I tried it first, but the installer is not a working
tool. 2 hours I tried to fix it and to no avail. Here is the error from his
log:

/Installer path: H:\flex\Apache Flex SDK Installer

Re: Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 + new AIR and Flex SDKs

Astraport
Hi pol!
That was my topic, thanks.

I have new issue.
I have already successfully created a new build of the application, but now
there is some problem in the Google console.
Do I understand correctly that it is now necessary to generate new keys for
updating the version? How can I do that?
Which method of the three in the picture should I choose?

allow me to continue uploading the app.

Re: Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 + new AIR and Flex SDKs

Don't worry about the warning messages. The first message is because you
probably don't have any users in your beta / alpha  channel.

The second warning, is because for a while now, we are supposed to use .aab
instead of .apk, for better management and distribution. However this is not
available in AIR (technically the latest AIR33, supports android app
bundles, but only if you are not using ANEs).

Concerning the keystore, you don't need to upload it to the store if you
didn't before. You can keep using your old .p12 file and it will be fine.
However, uploading it to the store, saves you from the troubles of
misplacing it and getting locked out.

Re: Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 + new AIR and Flex SDKs

Astraport
Thanks Leo.
You are absolutely right, my app is already published in Google Store.

Now I have two main issues.

1. Previously, I used ANE for in-app purchases from Milkman. I wrote to him
asking how his ANEs work with AIR 33, but he does not answer. What IAP ANE
would you recommend for the SDK 33?

2. Are there any difficulties for updating applications for Apple AppStore?
I worked on Windows and used the Application Loader, which I launched on the
MacOS virtual machine to upload IPA.
Does it still work?

Re: Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 + new AIR and Flex SDKs

1. Milkman (Alex) has gone silent for a couple of years now, maybe more. I
would suggest using either Distriqt or MyFlashlabs. They have updated to
support 64bit and they offer great support.

2. It is still the same with AppStore. You can either upload with
Application Loader, or if you have any troubles, with the new app called
"Transporter". Not much changed on iOS, except that we now have to use an
Assets.car for icons and special launchimages. You can read about these
changes on AIR 24 release notes.
